August is gonna be a huge month for The SFC Group (and you'll see why down below)! We've been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to give you and our other fans a much smoother and better experience, plus we've also been working hard on some new content that you guys will sure like. Some of the these changes we are announcing now will be made in the month of August, while some of these changes will be made today. This week, we have lots going on, which is why we haven't been posting a lot of content on social media for quite some time, but afterwards, we should be back up and running with new content very soon!

So without further ado, let's stop lollygagging, and let's get RIGHT into the NEWS! (You see what I did there? :P)

1. The SFC Group is now on Vidme

We are continuing to expand into other social media territories once again with us stepping our foot into Vidme! For those of you out there who aren't aware, Vidme is sort of like an alternative to Youtube, but with better features meant for content-creators. Plus, with Vidme, we also don't have to deal with false Content ID claims, and we get increased Ad revenue, and Vidme offers monthly subscriptions to those content-creators whose channels are verified. As of right now, we currently have four videos up on our Vidme channel you can watch right now (links below), but in the future, when our channel gets verified, we will be putting more of our efforts into the new Vidme channel: We'll be moving our archived videos over there, starting production on a new series EXCLUSIVE to Vidme, and we'll be offering a monthly paid subscription service where fans can get early access to our videos before they are released publicly! Please help us support our new Vidme channel by following us there, so we can continue expansion without limitations!

Our next announcement is a pretty BIG one...

2. The expansion to The SFC Group's major partnership with Aclevo

For those of you who weren't aware, The SFC Group began its partnership with Aclevo about 2 months ago. Since then, we've been working hard with them behind the scenes to make the experience not only for both groups, but the experience for our fans of both groups, better, and we are now ready to announce what is happening to The SFC Group and Aclevo as part of the Joint Subsidiary Partnership that takes effect today:

  1. Our main three Tech video series: The Software Room, The Computer Cellar, and The Electronics Guide, will be co-produced by The SFC Group and Aclevo under the Teklik Development joint subsidiary. That means we'll be releasing a lot more tech content faster on our channel, and it puts our popular tech series under both groups' wing.
  2. Our main gaming video series: SFC Plays Minecraft, SFC Plays Train Simulator (including Workshop Mania), SFC Plays Marble Blast, and SFC Plays Games, will be co-produced by The SFC Group and Aclevo under the Espera Studios joint subsidiary. Again, this puts our popular gaming series under both groups' wing.
  3. While we're on the topic of gaming, the SFC Games name is no more. SFC Games will be rebranded to Espera Interactive (taking effect on August 5th, 2017), and will be a joint venture between The SFC Group and Aclevo, for game development. We are officially announcing two games in active development, and two other games currently in the planning stages. More details will be revealed in the near future.
  4. The SFC Group now has a Graphics department, thanks to Platasun Designs, now an SFC-Aclevo joint subsidiary.
  5. The SFC Group's Entertainment department expands with Scerci Media, now an SFC-Aclevo joint subsidiary. As well as that, The SFC Archives and SFC Music will be moving under the new joint subsidiary.
  6. All new SFC Blog posts (including archived SFC Blog posts) have moved to the Aclevo blog. Powered by OctoberCMS, the interface is nice and clean, and it's also a very secure platform. The Aclevo site is expanding quite quickly, with even a forums to come in the near future!
  7. Finally, the following other parts of The SFC Group will not be affected by the SFC-Aclevo Joint Subsidiary Partnership: The SFC Site, the SFC Editorials series, SFC Animation, SFC Live, RoadRailer Simulations (and its properties), and Railfan Central (and its properties).

Like we said, the partnership takes effect today, and we will be working together on some future projects (mostly video games at the moment) under this current partnership. We hope to share some more news in the future!

But wait, there's MORE...

4. RoadRailer Simulations Update

A rather small update, but still an important one nonetheless; RoadRailer Simulations' next freeware pack, SD40-2 Leasers Pack Volume 1, will be coming out next week, on August 5th! It'll be released on the RRS Site at launch, with a Railworks America release shortly after. This freeware pack requires the BNSF SD40-2 DLC (link below; available in the US only due to BNSF licensing issues).

The SD40-2 Leasers Pack Volume 1 will include 5 leaser repaints of the EMD SD40-2: 2 First Union Rail (FURX) in ex-BN and ex-BNSF paint schemes, 2 Helm Financial (HLCX) in ex-BN and ex-BNSF paint schemes, and a static repaint of a decent representation of HLCX 8070! It'll also include 4 scenarios for the Chicago Racetrack route (sold separately), with the first 3 created by our SFC Group Member, StevenJam. A PDF manual, and an automatic installer script will also be included. This freeware pack will be a neat addition to your Train Simulator collection!

Also, we have more news regarding RoadRailer Simulations: We are getting back to making Workshop scenarios once again, with our next one being the Metro-North Train 68 scenario for Minerman146's New York Division-Croxton Ordinary route! It is currently in production, but we plan to release it sometime in August as well. Afterwards, we have plans to work on our first Workshop scenarios for the Feather River Canyon route, so stay tuned for those as well!

While we're on the topic of trains...

5. Railfan Central Update

Railfan Central is our dedicated railroading channel and website, with locomotive galleries, railroad histories, etc. As for videos, we had founded our Youtube channel last year, but we never did anything with it. But that's all about to change; today, we have released the first two RailVids videos onto Youtube, formerly on The SFC Group Youtube Channel before they were taken down. Vidme releases are coming in the near future as well. Here you can watch our first two RailVids videos down below:

Also, while we're on the topic of Railfan Central on Youtube, our first RailFacts episode is in the works, focusing on one of the most popular locomotives ever made. What is it you may ask? Well, you'll find out soon enough...

Finally, the Railfan Central (RFC) Site will be updated to version 7 sometime in August as well. The main changes to be made are the font change from Myriad Pro to Raleway, and the PRR Locomotive Gallery redesigned to match the new ones.

Now this is where things get interesting...

6. Youtube Channel Update

Now even though we're launching our new Vidme channel, that doesn't mean we're not uploading any more videos here! We're still continuing to work on videos that'll be released onto both our Youtube and Vidme channels over the next few weeks and months.

Here is what's to come in August and later in September:

  • The Software Room: A software review on Macintosh System 7.0 and Windows 2.0 are in the works. We're also working with one of our SFC Group members, PCGamesGuy (Christian), on a review of the Camera Mouse software.
  • The Computer Cellar: A review on the iPhone SE (including the accessories) is in the works. Afterwards, we'll be working on a review of one of the later Power Mac G4 models we've recently acquired: the Power Macintosh G4 with Mirrored Drive Doors.
  • The Electronics Guide: Our first Electronics Guide episode about Portable DVD Players, is currently in the works.
  • SFC Plays Train Simulator: The 50th episode of the series is currently in the works. For our 50th episode, we'll be showcasing what is one of the best DLCs for DTG's Train Simulator. Period. And yes, it will have a montage video.
  • SFC Plays Games: A new let's play of a mobile phone game is in the works. Not only that, we are officially announcing a new spin-off series, O.C.G (Obscure Childhood Games), where Sage (TheRealSFC) is joined in by one of our members to play the most forgotten and most obscure games played during his childhood. The first two episodes are currently in the planning stages, but will be in the works sometime in August.
  • SFC Editorials: We have another editorial coming up that is currently in the works, planned for an August release, where we'll be reviewing the Feather River Canyon Scenario Pack by High Iron Simulations!

There are also many more videos in the planning stages, but that's all we've got to cover here in terms of our Youtube channel. More video announcements will be pushed out on our Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Steam, and Discord pages, so please be sure to follow us there!

Now we are coming onto the final announcement, and this one is a doozy...

7. Technology Showdown Update

So yeah, we've been asked time after time, "When is a new episode of Technology Showdown coming out?"

To answer the question: We've been trying our best to work on the next new episode, but unfortunately, things didn't go according to plan as you'll find out. However, we've been progressing somewhat, but we want to put our best efforts into the next new episode, and not rush it out (look at Sonic '06 for example). So, we have two (sort of) small, but otherwise important updates regarding the future for our animated show:

  • Technology Showdown: The Prologue: As of August 2017, The Prologue has been stuck in the pre-production phase for quite a while; the main reasons for this was due to our unsuccessful attempts in getting decent software for storyboarding, getting our voice actors prepared, work on other projects, etc. A Summer or Fall 2017 release date thus is not possible. instead, The Prologue has been moved to 2018. However, like we said before, the project is progressing somewhat, and we will have some update videos for you guys in the near future, at least once the project gains steam (no pun intended). However, to make up for the delay...

  • The Misadventures of Apple and Tux: We've been working hard on a new spin-off show to Technology Showdown, focusing on the wacky misadventures of Apple, Tux, and many other syms from the Technology Showdown universe! A pilot episode is planned to be released this Fall, with it focusing on our main character, Apple, with some comedy thrown into it. Also, Union and the gang will be showing up in this new spin-off show as well, possibly in a separate episode (to make up for the fact that the Union and Friends spin-off show is cancelled). We don't have much to say about it as of right now, but we will have some more news about it in the near future, on social media, and on Youtube!

So there you have it! This is what we've been working on lately. Please do stay up-to-date with us on social media, and of course, here in the Aclevo Blog, which will be where our latest blog posts will be posted. So as always, I will see you guys in the not-too-distant future, and be sure to stay with us on the Aclevo Blog for more news to come!
